A day out in the town and sleeping in
The Oriental Pearl Tower
Saturday was pretty good, as a colleague of mine volunteered to take us out into the town to see some of the tourist sites around Pudong. This is where the Shanghai World Financial Center is located, as such it was one of our stops. However, before that, we got a chance to see the large ring pedestrian crossing, and also a new attraction in town, an underground Apple Store, one of 2 in China, and the larger of the two. They had everything except 3G iPads, but generally most of the prices are a little more expensive than Malaysian prices, at around 2888 RMB for a 32GB iPad (roughly rm1.6k), which doesn't make it any more attractive to buy it here than back home.
A night out in the town
Well, yesterday was pretty normal. Work was work, food wise for lunch we hit this Japanese cuisine restaurant, pretty good food for a reasonable price, with food for 3 people plus some condiments like cucumber, japanese dumplings and shrimp somethings going for 136 RMB. Sadly I forgot to take pics (whats new
). That was that, pretty much. Our evening plans were interesting, a colleague had some plans to meet his buddies at a local bar called the Big Bamboo for a pool league they have every Thursday.
Loud music and drinks abound, we hit the place to see what was what. But not before grabbing a quick bite to eat at a McD, where the 3 of us decided to have a Spicy Chicken McDeluxe-alike burger. Can't say much, McD is McD pretty much wherever you go. A quick ride on the Metro and we were at our destination after a 5 minute walk through the cold icy wind around LuJiaZui [Ed- mistake here, we stopped off at Jing'an Temple, LuJiaZui was far off] . I have GOT to learn Mandarin at some point in my life.
The Big Bamboo bar, pretty interesting place.
Day 2 of my Shanghai experience
I didn't blog on day 1, but I think it's okay for this post to be a 2 day summary, considering most of today so far was work related, and thus I can't reveal much
I started my travels with my boss, and we took a flight from KLIA to Shanghai Pudong airport via MAS flight MH0388. All in all a pretty uneventful trip, the usual fare. The flight was 5 hours long, and we left at 9.30am. In flight food was so-so, some sad nasi lemak with shrimp sambal, but at least the extra sambal went along with the bread. There was some blueberry cake thingamajig which was awesome, and some fruits. Also awesome was the Magnum Mini dessert that we got, but I couldn't partake thanks to my now-chronic cough.
One crazy Saturday after another
Welcome one and all to my all new blog. It's been in the making since forever, but it's finally up and running (to some extent, theme changes to come soon, once I'm done with the custom skin).
This Saturday I decided to have myself an adventurous long day, starting with a long journey to the heart of KL, for Celgames 2010 @ The Hub, Plaza Low Yat. Packing my gear up in a huge sack-like bag, I started by missing the 9.30am train by a couple of minutes. After a 1/2 hour wait, the journey continued, leading me to KL Sentral where thanks to beautiful city planning, I had to walk half a klick to get to the monorail, all the while lugging my G25 on my back. For those of you that don't know, the whole package of the steering wheel, pedals, and gear shifter come up to around 5kg.
Hello 1Utama!
HELLO WORLD! This is Strife reporting in, after months of contemplating starting a blog to post my thoughts and reviews on whatever, I finally found the catalyst to push me forward in the Go.Esc Mass Blogger Review Competition. Thus, here is my entry, detailing my second day (but the fourth day for the Digital Delirium Xpo).
